At QMET, we ensure the protection, processing, and transfer of your personal data in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, as well as principles of privacy and protection of fundamental rights and freedoms.
According to the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (hereinafter referred to as the “PDPL”), QMET ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY AND TRADE INC. (hereinafter referred to as “QMET”) is the data controller responsible for processing your personal data.
We process your personal data within the limits defined by the legislation and as explained below, with the awareness of our responsibilities. As the Data Controller, we would like to inform you according to Article 10 of the PDPL titled “Data Controller’s Obligation to Inform.” The Customer Information Text is prepared in accordance with the PDPL.
1. Purposes and Legal Reasons for Processing Your Personal Data
Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the following purposes and legal reasons, as stipulated by the PDPL:
– Being in compliance with the law and honesty
– Being accurate and up-to-date when necessary
– Being processed for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes
– Being relevant, limited, and proportionate to the purposes for which they are processed
– Being stored for the period stipulated by relevant legislation or required for the purpose for which the data is processed
2. Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your personal data may be transferred to third parties listed below for the following purposes in cases of legitimate interest of the Company, as explicitly provided by law, to fulfill our legal and administrative obligations, and when data processing is compulsory for the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right:
– To authorized public institutions and organizations and private individuals authorized by law for the purpose of fulfilling legal obligations
– To relevant judicial authorities for conducting or following legal procedures
– To professional consultants, accountants, and auditors that the Company receives service from for the follow-up and execution of financial and accounting affairs
– To occupational health and safety institutions and experts we receive service from to fulfill our legal obligations
– To institutions and banks that the Company is commercially, administratively, or contractually involved with for conducting financial operations
– To cargo, courier, and logistics companies providing transportation and distribution services for fulfilling contractual obligations of the Company
– To public institutions as specified by laws upon request (such as Ministries and Presidential Committees)
– Personal data shared via emails are indirectly transferred abroad since the Company uses a foreign-based service for company email usage, and the servers of this service are located abroad. Apart from this, there is no data transfer outside the country.
3. Collection of Personal Data
Your personal data can be collected in various ways depending on the service provided by QMET and the commercial activities of QMET, through automatic or non-automatic methods, as part of any data recording system; through all contracts/information forms and other documents arranged with your consent and/or signature, QMET departments, the website, social media channels, mobile applications, and similar means verbally, in writing, or electronically.
4. Rights of Data Subjects Whose Personal Data Is Processed
Individuals whose personal data is processed have the following rights according to Article 11 of the PDPL:
– To learn whether their personal data is being processed
– To request information if their personal data has been processed
– To learn the purpose of data processing and whether data is used in accordance with its purpose
– To know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred domestically or abroad
– To request the correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, if any, and to request notification of the corrections to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred
– To request the deletion or destruction of personal data in case the reasons necessitating its processing cease to exist, despite being processed in accordance with the PDPL and other applicable laws, and to request notification of the operations to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred
– To object to unfavorable results arising from the analysis of the processed data exclusively by automated systems
– To request compensation for damages due to the unlawful processing of personal data
5. Submission of Requests under the PDPL
You can submit your requests regarding your rights listed in Article 4 by filling out the “Personal Data Owner Application Form” available at “https://www.QMET.com.tr/.” You can personally deliver a signed copy of the form to the address of QMET ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY AND TRADE INC. “Middle District, Erk. St. Aslı Nemutlu Industrial Site B Block No:5/B-5 Tuzla / İstanbul” with your identification documents. You can also send it via a notary or other methods specified in the PDPL, or you can send the relevant form to “info@qmet.com.tr” with a secure electronic signature.
Applications must be made in Turkish. For your application to be evaluated and to be responded to, it must contain your name, surname, signature if it is a written application, Turkish Republic identity number for Turkish citizens, nationality, passport number/ID number for foreigners, address of residence or workplace for notification, if available, an email address for notification, phone number, and fax number, and the subject of the request must be included.
Based on the nature of the request, it will be concluded as soon as possible and within thirty (30) days at the latest without any charge. However, if the transaction requires an additional cost, the fee specified by the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board may be charged by us. If your request is justified, this fee will be refunded to you.
We hereby inform you as the “Data Controller” under the PDPL.
